THE DISPLAY

DISPLAY BOARD GUIDELINES

Displays can be made of any material except Styrofoam, but must be sturdy enough to stand alone on a table. The materials should be easy to work with and transport. Suggested materials are: a cardboard or wooden box, plain cardboard or blank science fair display board. (Old recycled one is the best option and will be rewarded extra points for being environmental friendly).

All the display board should be set before the judging time assigned or before 4pm on Thursday, 24th April 2014 at the Multipurpose room or assigned place.

THE MEASUREMENTS OF YOUR DISPLAY MAY NOT EXCEED: 76cm DEEP, 120cm WIDE, and 90cm HIGH

Your project will be followed by many others, so it should be attractive and eye-catching. Remember the “C’s” for exhibiting: • Color appeal  • Contrast  • Clear, concise statements  • Completeness

Prepare a background with a pleasing color (paint or cover with paper) and use contrasting lettering (done by hand or using stencils, or may be stick-on or glue-on letters).

Your exhibit should tell the story of your project. Include the Question, Hypothesis, Materials, Method, Results, and Conclusions using simple statements and attractive visuals. Your display must have (A) pictures or sketches AND (B) a properly labeled graph of your data.

If you used special equipment, the set-up should be placed in front of your display or in a place to enhance the exhibit - not overwhelm it. Live animals or foods should NOT be a part of your display, but may be shown by using a picture or sketch. MAKE SURE YOUR NAMES APPEAR ON THE EXHIBIT

DISPLAYS FOR JUDGING ARE DUE ON SEPARATE TIME. YOU WILL BE INFORMED ON WHICH TIME YOU WILL BE JUDGED PRIOR TO THAT DAY. DISPLAYS FOR OPEN HOUSE AND AWARDS CEREMONY ARE ALL DUE BY 4 P.M. WEDNESDAY, 23RD APRIL 2014
