About UAS Science Fair- May 18 2014 

The goal of the UAS Science Fair is to encourage students to take an active interest in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM).

STEAM = Science & Technology interpreted through Engineering & the Arts, all based in Mathematical elements.

This science fair will be a learning opportunity for the students to apply their skills in STEAM to come up with innovative experiments or inventions. All learners investigate and coordinate topics and tangents, learn and teach others for more perspectives in discussions and on projects. This results in an impressive variety of viable solutions and extensions to authentic problems. It also promotes deeper understanding and transference of knowledge across subjects. Students participating in this science fair will have the opportunity to not only come up with innovative ideas, but also make those ideas come to life. This would allow them to solve problems using STEAM, thus giving a whole new perspective on everyday life. They will learn the processes involved in designing and conducting experiments, which would allow them to think like a scientist. The UAS Science Fair also aims to change society’s perspective of STEAM. Participants will be awed by the terrific innovations that lay before them. Many talented and creative students will have an opportunity to be given recognition for their skills and ideas. Teachers that are committed to education in STEAM will also be acknowledged for their efforts. The UAS Science Fair gives a chance to everyone that participates to learn and discover the numerous possibilities in STEAM research.
